Today was a pretty glorious spring day, good for reflecting, creating and doing. I did all three, as evidenced by my mood (not bad), a new blog (also not bad) and the shit ton of things I got done today.
It was pretty important to me to get my domain moved to a new host, as I haven’t had working email for weeks now. I’ve asked for it to be fixed and it hasn’t been done, and the email had been going down at least every few months, no matter what I did. I know I get a metric crapload of spam, but this was getting ridiculous. My old host has been pretty generous with me in the past, taking on the rest of my hosting package that I’d had from the host before that for free, when that host disappeared into the sunset one day. But still, it was no longer worth it.
Besides, they didn’t have good stuff like user friendly blog software!
I’ve been trying to get some sort of something going for literally YEARS now. I think it all started way back when with Greymatter, which I don’t even think exists anymore. I never really did get that working right, and I could never get Blogger or Moveable Type to work the way I wanted at all. So I’m pretty surprised that Word Press and I are getting along okay so far. I bungled the installation the first couple of times of course, and I couldn’t get any themes to install, but hey, I’m not unhappy with this one, so it’s all good.
Having a useable blog is essential to furthering my geekiness.
NOW ALL I NEED IS A LAPTOP!!!!
